Project Description

Rocket Road is a runner hyper-casual game, in which the player controls a rocket ship in an endless flight on a road through space.

Rocket Road features color based obstacles and the player’s Rocket shifts colors – the player has to match color to color to pass through safely.

Why this game?

After a series of casual, high investment game developments that ultimately did not justify the time and cost, I suggested a shift in focus to a shotgun approach – develop a lot of games in a short amount of time, see which one catches on and continue investing time into it.

Rocket Road was the first of these games.

The road, obstacle, and endless mechanics were identified by me to be highly replicable to other games, and so reduce development time across titles.

Also, a unified UI system was outlined and implemented to be reused across titles.
